Our R&D team develop IntelliBroń (https://intellibron.io), a Cybersecurity product for worldwide global market. You can find our team activities from the following blog posts https://blog.intellibron.io.

Cybersecurity is a unique domain where most of the time faced with many challenges where guidance is not available. Our R&D team require "We Can Do" mentality instead of "We Can't Do That" as strong philosophies behind our innovative product creation.

We are looking for 5 backend engineers to fill the vacant roles. Please read carefully the following requirement below.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Back-End Engineer designs, builds, and maintains backend services and APIs for IntelliBroń's R&D product line (Orion, Corvus, Aman, and adjacent products), working primarily in Java/Spring Boot. Given a problem — not just a task — this role independently breaks it down, owns a feature or component end-to-end with minimal day-to-day oversight, and ships output reliable enough to merge without heavy rework. The role collaborates closely with frontend, mobile, and QA engineers, reviews peers' work, and is expected to use AI coding assistants to speed up its own workflow while still verifying everything that ships.

JOB DETAILS

  1. Ability to work on-site in Jakarta, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in English and Bahasa Indonesia. The team work is 5 days WFO schema and require everyone to be available in the office start from 09.00 AM in the morning for daily standup routine. So please discard if you can't comply with this policy :)
  2. Own the design and implementation of features/components end-to-end, from a defined problem through to production, with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  3. Write unit and integration tests covering edge cases and failure modes, not just the happy path.
  4. Review other backend engineers' code usefully, and unblock peers when needed.
  5. Agree API contracts with frontend/mobile engineers and implement them; resolve routine integration issues without escalation.
  6. Optimize queries, caching, and indexing for owned services (PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, Redis/Valkey, OpenSearch); make reasonable build-vs-skip tradeoffs within scope.
  7. Apply secure-coding practices and resolve Aikido SAST/SCA findings; build security into owned components by default.
  8. Use AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent) to speed up review, refactoring, and debugging — verifying all AI-suggested changes before merging.
  9. Know when to decide independently vs. escalate to the Back-End Engineer Lead; communicate design reasoning clearly enough that a teammate or stakeholder can act on it without follow-up.

JOB RELATIONSHIP

  1. Back-End Engineer Lead: Aligns on architecture direction, escalates non-routine decisions, and reports on progress and risk.
  2. Frontend & Mobile Engineers: Agrees and implements API contracts; resolves integration issues directly.
  3. QA Engineers: Aligns on test coverage for owned services; resolves defects found in QA cycles.
4, Other Backend Engineers: Reviews peers' code, pairs, unblocks, and shares knowledge within the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Any education, as long as you can solve problem in enterprise level with "can do" attitude, any qualifications are welcome.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Back-End developer, with demonstrated ownership of features/components end-to-end.

KNOWLEDGE

  1. Strong working knowledge of Java 17+ and Spring Boot — the team's primary backend stack across Orion, Corvus, and Aman.
  2. Solid understanding of PostgreSQL (incl. TimescaleDB), Redis/Valkey, and OpenSearch — schema/query design, indexing, and caching performance.
  3. Experience with message-driven components (RabbitMQ or equivalent) and event-driven service design.
  4. Strong RESTful API design and implementation skills; comfortable owning contracts behind an API gateway (APISIX).
  5. Working experience with Kubernetes-deployed services (self-managed RKE2 and managed GKE) — able to read manifests, debug running pods, and reason about deployment behavior.
  6. Solid grasp of security fundamentals: Keycloak/OIDC-based auth, JWT, input validation, and secure coding aligned with Aikido SAST/SCA gating in CI.
  7. Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Agile development workflows.
  8. Proficient in unit/integration testing, including edge-case and failure-mode coverage; comfortable with TDD.
  9. Practical fluency with AI coding assistants for day-to-day engineering, with a habit of verifying before merging.

SKILLS

  1. Solves a defined problem independently, with edge cases and failure modes considered up front.
  2. Reviews others' code usefully and unblocks peers.
  3. Communicates design reasoning clearly enough that a teammate or stakeholder can act on it without follow-up.
  4. Makes reasonable build-vs-skip tradeoffs within their own scope; knows when to escalate.
